Studio Ghibli Fest 2025 — Eight Films Returning to Theaters

スタジオジブリ祭2025

The lineup for the 2025 Studio Ghibli Fest — which is usually announced in March — was finally revealed by GKIDS in April 2025.

Ghibli classics — eight titles back on the big screen

After a special run of 14 films in 2024 (celebrating Boy and the Heron’s Academy Award for Best Animated Feature), the 2025 Ghibli Fest will screen eight titles. If you live in the U.S., take this chance to catch them at local chains such as AMC. Most titles play for 3–5 days and are shown in Japanese with English subtitles or in English-dubbed prints.

Screening schedule (U.S.):

  • Kiki’s Delivery Service(魔女の宅急便) — May 17–21, 2025
  • The Secret World of Arrietty(借りぐらしのアリエッティ) — June 22–24, 2025
  • My Neighbor Totoro(となりのトトロ) — July 19–23, 2025
  • Grave of the Fireflies(火垂るの墓) — August 10–12, 2025
  • Ponyo(崖の上のポニョ) — August 23–27, 2025
  • Howl’s Moving Castle(ハウルの動く城) — September 20–24, 2025
  • Spirited Away(千と千尋の神隠し) — October 18–22, 2025
  • Boy and the Heron(君たちはどう生きるか) — November 15–19, 2025.
