This time I visited two teamLab sites\u2014one indoor and one outdoor\u2014and here\u2019s a friendly guide for first-timers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-west-coaster wp-block-embed-west-coaster\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/en\/team-lab-2016\/\" class=\"st-cardlink st-embed-cardlink\"><div class=\"kanren st-cardbox\"><dl class=\"clearfix\"><dt class=\"st-card-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-SV-2016_01-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><\/dt><dd><p class=\"st-cardbox-t\">I went to teamLab\u2019s special exhibition in Silicon Valley! (2016)<\/p><div class=\"st-card-excerpt smanone\"><p>Personal account of visiting teamLab\u2019s 2016 Silicon Valley exhibition \u2014 immersive digital art and Future Park experiences that react to your presence.<\/p><\/div><\/dd><\/dl><\/div><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>teamLab (stylized as teamLab) is an art collective known for immersive digital works that use the latest technologies. Their museums\u2014like teamLab Planets in Toyosu and teamLab Borderless (now in Azabudai Hills)\u2014invite visitors into fantastical, dreamlike worlds. Projection mapping, interactive sensors, and shifting light, color and sound mean the artworks change dynamically; when you walk or touch, the art reacts, making you feel like part of the piece.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>teamLab Borderless \u2014 scale that can only be felt in a dedicated venue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Azabudai_00-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\u30c1\u30fc\u30e0\u30e9\u30dc\uff08\u9ebb\u5e03\u53f0\u30d2\u30eb\u30ba\uff09\" class=\"wp-image-6541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Azabudai_00-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Azabudai_00-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Azabudai_00-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Azabudai_00.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>teamLab Borderless reopened in a new, expanded form in Tokyo\u2019s Azabudai Hills (the former Odaiba facility evolved into this new site). True to its name\u2014\u201cborderless\u201d\u2014the works flow across spaces, connecting with each other so every visit feels different. It\u2019s a new Tokyo landmark worth putting on your sightseeing list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_03.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4629.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>teamLab Planets \u2014 walk through water and become part of the art<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Planets in Toyosu is famous for immersive pieces you literally move through: wading areas where luminous koi and flowers react to your steps, a \u201cbubble\u201d room and other installations that invite playful interaction with the art. The venue expanded in early 2025 to add fresh areas and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Digitized \u2014 nature and digital art blended outdoors<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_01-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6545\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_01-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_01-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_01-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.west-coaster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TeamLab-Ibaraki_01.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>teamLab also stages outdoor \u201cDigitized Nature\u201d exhibitions that use existing gardens and landscapes as the canvas. In Ibaraki Prefecture, the exhibit titled <em>teamLab \u5e7d\u8c37\u96a0\u7530\u8de1<\/em> (a Digitized Nature program) opened in late 2024 at Kairakuen garden. Plum trees, bamboo groves and terraces are illuminated and respond to visitors, creating a magical contrast between the garden\u2019s natural beauty and teamLab\u2019s digital light.
